Competition Registration

Registration is conducted exclusively online. Participants will receive an automatic confirmation of registration via email.
Registration is open on an ongoing basis, but no later than 30 April 2026.

Scope and Format of the Thesis

It is the contestant’s responsibility (with the supervisor’s consent) to upload the thesis – either the full text or just the abstract* – to their registration account (using the email address and password provided during registration). The thesis may only be uploaded as a single PDF file with a maximum file size of 50 MB. Name the file DPO_LastName_FirstName.pdf (e.g., DPO_Novak_Petr.pdf). For the doctoral section, the publication format of the thesis and the use of English for both the written thesis and its defense are mandatory. In other sections, the use of the publication format is recommended.
The document must include a title page with the following information:
  • Student Scientific Competition – Dean’s Award 2026
  • Title of Thesis
  • Contestant’s Name
  • Supervisor’s Name
  • Year of Study and Field of Study
  • Department Where the Thesis Is Being Supervised
The competition entry can be submitted to the system by 30 April 2026. You can verify that your entry has been saved in the system at the same location where you uploaded it. Similarly, you can delete it and upload it again if necessary.
Competitors are not required to submit a printed copy of their work.

* The abstract-only submission option is permitted only if the supervisor recommends that the competition entry be kept confidential due to the sensitivity of the data used. In this case, the contestant will submit only the abstract and must submit the work bound in a ring binder or other format to the section coordinator by 30 April 2026.

Competitors will present their work within the time limits specified below, unless the section coordinators/committees decide otherwise:

  • Bachelor’s category: up to 10 minutes + discussion in Czech or English (or Slovak)
  • Master’s category: 10 minutes + discussion in Czech or English (or Slovak)
  • Doctoral category: 15 minutes + discussion in English
A PC/laptop with internet access will be available in the room. A presentation clicker will also be available in most rooms. Section coordinators will provide further technical details.
